The clock is my dictator I shall not rest

One of the bible's verses which I love is Psalm 23. It talks about having that unfound peacefulness found only when we ask God for it. It talks about the opposite of what a stressful life we continually experience in our everyday lives.

Just wanted to share a re-vived version of this chapter reflecting what a 21st century life is filled-in. I hope my time isn't like this.

The clock is my dictator I shall not rest
He maketh me to lie down only when I’m exhausted and stressed out.
It leadeth me to the pathway of overcommitment
and unto the treadmill of business.
It houndeth my soul,
driving me on an everincreasing circle of frenzy for activities sake.
Eventhough I ran frantically from test to test,
I cannot get it all done
for my mobile phone, my Bluetooth, my blackberry, my palm pilot are always with me.
My schedules, deadlines and need for approval endlessly drive me on.
Demanding performance from me beyond the limits of my capabilities.
They annoyed my heads with migraines, and my soul with deep anxieties.
My entrée overflows;
My to do list runneth over.
My ipod, mp3, itunes, and starbucks they failed to comfort me.
And I find no solace nor refuge in myspace, my facebook or twitter pages.
Surely emails and faxes and text messages will follow me all the days of my life.
And I will dwell in the debts of depression and frustration forever.

Here's the real Psalm 23:

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
