Panicky feeling....

I was checking out my blog when my eyes came across the "wedding countdown" part that I'm now set in a panicky mode! Gosh, it's just 2 months away and I haven't done anything I may call an "achievement".

For petty stuffs, I've just finished our misalette. After a day's work. Hahaha! It's my first draft of the misalette so I still need to go through it again (several times maybe). I'm planning to incorporate with it the songs. Next time.

Next stop, invitation. Last night, Perry and I were deliberating the style for the invitation's wrap. We've made the body but we were stuck with the warp til midnight. And that was it. But I'm thankful we're getting something productive out of our time. Hopefully, our invitations will be sent out to guests first week of November. I'm crossing my fingers on that. really. But here's the stuck up... our entourage is still not finalized. :(

This holiday (if you really call undas a holiday), I'll be going home to Dagupan City for a 9-day (yes, read it right) vacation. I'm really looking forward to a time out from work. Gives me time to splurge on my wedding preparation. I just hope the gods work with me especially in dealing with suppliers.

Afterwhich, we're set to see Smartshot for some contract changes. And set a date for a Prenup photos. I never really see the essence of a prenup photo. I was really hesitant to include it in our P&V package. It's just a waste of time and money. But then, seeing W@W couples having their grand time during their shoot, convinced me to have one as well. Now, I'll be doing it because there's this one place in my mind which kept on popping up whenever "prenup pictorials" is mentioned. Secret muna. It's where we met.

Also, next month will be the busiest (i think). If only I could finish everything next month, I'll do it even without sleeping. Just so I wouldn't be pressured on December and especially in January. I wanna be beautiful on my wedding day. Who doesn't di ba? :D I wonder if there's any bride who wants to look like godzilla on her wedding day...

I just have to be optimistic.... I hope i can. ADYA!

TWENTY SEVEN

Every year, during my birthday, I stop by and recall what has happened in my life. I started doing this since I came to a point where I pondered life's importance and purpose. I usually give thanks to the blessings that come my way. Thankful to new friends I've made but forever joyful for my close friends and family.

The past year has proven to be very tough. Tougher than I thought. But hey, which year doesn't?

The reason why I'm writing about this is because of one incident lingering in my mind til now. An officemate of mine recently lost her dad. He was 80 years old. We visited her during the wake. What caught my eye is this old lady sitting in one of the chairs. She's in her late seventies. She's calmy talking to a young woman sitting beside her. Her eyes looked sad and tired. But she still managed to welcome her guests to pay their last respect to her husband.

That night somehow pinched my soul and opened my eyes to a whole new situation in life I haven't pondered upon ever. Until that night. We meet someone we'll love for the rest of our life until that day we finally part ways -- forever. It's a mystery for me how that old woman feels now that her partner in life has left her alone. Someone she's been with for the past fifty years, everyday, has left her to go on with the journey of life by herself. What must be life after?

Now, I'm left with this question: is it terrifying for that day to come? I believe it will be. But what matters most is how I'll spend the rest of my life with the person I'm marrying. What matters most is what happens during that fifty years.

Petals and Rings

It's been a while (a month to be exact!) since I last posted. My lack of initiative to post the updates of my wedding preps gives me the panicky feeling. We're three months shy away from the Big day.

Well, for one, I was able to have my gown measurement last September 3 at Taal, Batangas. I think that's just my achievement for the past month! Gosh! I'm way behind my shedule of "activities"... if you know what I mean. *winks*

By the way, I'm posting a pic of our wedding band. Bought it way back in June. Bought it with a 50% discount. Kinda bit okey comparing it with the first pair of ring we saw in a bridal fair at Megamall. We're having it engraved anytime this October (fingers crossed).


My only problem with it is that mine has 4 diamonds on it. Now, there's a saying (kasabihan/paniniwala)in our culture that stones in wedding rings have to be in odd numbers. So, I need to have one stone removed.. or perhaps, added (which I think is way out of my mind).

Another achievement: got our handmade papers for our invitation from VCQ (las Pinas City)! *whew!* We're on our way to making our invitation. Actually, we decided on having a DIY invitation. Makes the invitation personal, aye? Plus, some invitations just get shoved off the table after the wedding unless you're very close to that family that they'll have it for keeps.

I've seen this photo of invitation from the web. And I'm having ours patterned after it. Not totally, though. It's made of handmade paper with reddish petals on it. We ordered our papers the same way. Plus Mr. Quiblat, the owner of VCQ gave us a freebie -- an abaca rope -- to tie the invitation. A good deal actually for handmade papers. Btw, I'm also posting a sample of that photo from the web. I'll just post again a photo of our REAL invitation when it's done. :)






Scheduled for this week too is our application of Marriage License. A brief update on this stuff... Last week, Perry obtained the application form from Paranaque Municipal Hall. He was given two forms, after severel inquiries regarding the necessary information/documents to be submitted together with the application. He's getting his barangay certificate (it's required daw), CENOMAR (just to be sure if he's really single :P) and birth cert from NSO. On my end, I've finally (after weeks of waiting) got the Certificate of No Impediment to Marry from NZ Embassy. Quite an achievement for me, really.

So, there. We just have to get all these necessary docs and we can lodge the application form. They say it takes ten working (?) days before it's approved. In addition, we have to take the family planning seminar... whatever.
