Boys will be boys…

Why are boys so naughty? And rough with playing? I got a minor accident involving a photo album falling off and directly hitting my left eye! I just can’t imagine that it’ll swell up and made me miss Monday’s work! It’s so funny and weird in a way. And it’s all because of my naughty son.

Sunday night, I was lying on my mom’s bed and my son was standing beside me, leaning over the headboard. He was making kalikot to anything he sees. I saw the photo album sitting on top of the headboard but not directly on me so I just put off the idea it might fall on me. And of all things to happen, my son just pushed everything on top of the headboard off. I didn’t anticipate it falling off me but it did! Grabe! It was so terrible. It’s like someone punched me on my eye!

And there’s this other day, he was pulling me down, letting me squat on the floor so he could climb on my back and make a horsey ride! And he now loves jumping on beds! I’m just so afraid he might go off-balanced and fall off the bed and hit his head in one of the bedroom furnitures.

I guess boys will be boys…

Day light saving started last night for New Zealand... it's now one hour advance making nighttime longer.

Anyway, i'm down here at UCOL helping P with his report and proofreading my bro's report. Both are due tomorrow. My golly!

Just taking a break and trying to upload pics of our trip to Auckland and some from the Sakura festival held last week.

Tristan is with his lola (my side). And I think I might be leaving again tonight for Auckland. :( It's tiring to think of travelling 16 hours durign the weekend just to be with my family. Grabe the sacrifice! hehehe! But it's all worth it when I get to be with P and play around with Tristan even for the weekend.

Next week... will finally be able to transfer our things to Auckland. One problem lies though -- and that's finding a tenant for the house we are currently staying in. *crossing my fingers we'll find one sooner*

How it is being away...

It has been 3 weeks since I’ve started full-time work. I terribly miss my son. It’s a big jump from being a stay-at-home Mum to being a working mum. And I’m missing my life as a SAHM.

I love the laid-back life I have…not really minding the time. I only have Tristan and P to take care of. I also miss cooking meals, preparing meals and having to bathe Tristan during the day. I miss playing with him. Making kulit and just simply growing up with him.

Over the next couple of days though, I may be able to do some of what I used to do.

Being here in Auckland and away from my family gave me a peek on how a migrant’s life is. Well, I’m a migrant, but I came here to NZ with my parents and brothers so adjusting is just left to changes with my outside zone. This is different in such different way. I felt like I’m in another country, when I’m only in Auckland. LOL. So uber but being away, irrespective of the distance, is still being away from the people you love. I’m just lucky I get to go home every Friday night and see my family during the weekends. My heart goes out to our OFW workers and other immigrants who have to be away from their family – all alone by themselves in another land.

More awesome is that I finally found a place here in Auckland where my family can move-in! yey! Did you know that it took me a couple of weeks to psyche myself in leaving the house we are in now? Letting go is so hard especially because I love that little place of ours. Anyway, we’ll be moving all our furnitures and other stuffs from Palmerston North to Auckland by the first week of October. And what’s more fantastic is that my company is paying for all the costs of my family relocating to Auckland!

So, I’ll be more than busy (and excited) for the next few weeks arranging our new house here in Auckland. I just hope everything else falls into place smoothly.

So much for that…. Last couple of months were spent with Tristan’s lolo and lola who came to visit New Zealand. We were able to trail Palmerston North to Auckland and back for three days! Can you believe that?

It's officially springtime here in NZ! I just love springtime! I especially love trees showing their first signs of aliveness and flowers painting the gardens. I am so looking forward to the "sakura" festival (Cherry blossoms festival)....
